An AAR for tonight’s game!
Can you share your secret for getting static grass to look like grass and not a miniature game of pick-up-sticks?
ReplyDeleteSecret...?
ReplyDeleteUh, sure...?
After I'm finished with the dry-brushing the lighter brown on the base goop (there is a description of this in the comments section of The Great Basing Debate) and it's all dry I take some white carpenter's glue ("Weldbond" is what I use) and put a couple small dots of glue on the base. I stick the base into the static grass container and make sure it's thoroughly cover (on a 28mm figure I make sure he's burried up to his knees at least) and then pat it down a bit to make sure a fair amount of grass sticks into the glue. Then I pull the figure out and shake off most of the grass. Then I turn it upside down and tap the bottom of the base a couple of times - just to get any more loose sticks of grassy bits off (and I imagine this helps it stand up a bit... but I don't really know for sure...).
Hope that helps?
