WW2 - Italian Weapons Teams

Today I finished up the Italian Weapons Teams that arrived last week. The miniatures were Bersaglieri, but I tried carving off the feathers on the side of their helmets. Some came off okay. Some ended up with damaged helmets. On one I shattered half the rifle slung across the back, and ended up having to carve the rest of it off as well. Despite these setbacks, I think they turned out pretty okay....

After the lack of success I had with the French VB launchers in our first game, I'm not sure how useful!?

Italian Weapons Teams - Anti-Tank Rifle, Light Mortar (Brixia) and Marksman.

ALL THE ITALIANS!?

Also, this arrived today! With the actual lists, I expect I'll do a bunch more stock-taking this week... (and a game report later in the week!).

  1. I know they did not work very well, but I always liked heavy caliber anti tank rifles!

Does the main rulebook have army lists, or do you need to buy the supplemental books for that?

    1. Ha-ha! Right!? Especially the Italian Army Solothurn - which was bigger than most, I think!

The Bolt Action rulebooks have always had the basic lists for Russian, Commonwealth, USA, Germany and Japan. All the other combatants are available to download for free. The other books just add detail, "theatre selectors", background, etc... So I don't NEED to buy any of the other books... Which is nice.

    2. (which is why I've mostly been focusing on Italy and France - I had access to those lists!)

    3. (and I could extrapolate from there for most things most infantry costs all the same in each army it's the tanks I was less sure about, so I wasn't stock-taking or list making for any of my forces that involve tanks... UNTIL NOW!!)

  2. Great modelling and painting. The stone strewn bases are terrific too. I am impressed with your feather removing efforts, they have turned out well .

    1. Ha-ha! Thanks! I kind of like the idea of playing really early war games, y'know, when anti-tank rifles WERE actually dangerous! That probably won't happen, though, until *I* build my own opposing early war force of dainty little bolted together tanks!
