2nd Platoon, B Company, 5th Necromundan Regiment - Reorg!

This reorganization came about largely because I'm moving away from Kill Team and thinking about playing small skirmish games with 40K - and that means filling out units. Sure we could play Open War and have squads of whatever size we want... completely ignoring points and power level and such... But I am trying to follow the fluff and armies are organized into squads and such...

Later this week we are kicking off a little narrative campaign - that I'd originally planned to do with Kill Team, but am now thinking smaller games of 40K might work better.

Elements of 2nd Platoon, B Company, 5th Necromundan Regiment

Lt. Duane Naismith (as Company Commander)

Commissar Abba Biafra

Command Squad

Veteran Squad

This could be a Vanguard detachment in 40K:

HQ (1-2)
1x Company Commander (Power Level 2)

Elites (3-6)
1x Commissar (Power Level 2)
1x Command Squad (Power Level 2)
1x Veteran Squad (Power Level 5)

Total Power Level: 11

Might not be a viable force in the #New40K - the Command Points you get are based on the level of the game - but then you have to PAY for your detachments out of those Command Points. the idea is to discourage "soup" armies - forces with lots of different detachments from different factions to use their different special abilities in some sort of combination. It looks like SOME detachments give a Command Point "bonus" equal to the cost of the detachment if it includes your Warlord (basically a refund on your core detachment) - but that's Patrol and Battalion Detachments (and, presumably, Brigade Detachments) - all the detachments whose basic requirements are TROOPS. Haven't seen how much the other detachments (Vanguard, Outrider, Spearhead, etc) are going to be... Of course... I guess this only matters if you're worried about matched play, which I give exactly zero fucks at all about these days...

Coming Soon to Tim's Miniature Wargaming Blog:

A couple more Imperial Fist Scouts and an introduction for our little Narrative 40K campaign we'll be playing over the next month or so!

    1. Ha! Thanks Iain!

I am loathe to buy any more Imperial Guard.

Though, I have to admit, I was briefly thinking of chucking all the Cadians into a Simple Green bath and stripping all of their paint off and repainting them as Necromundans!?
