More Ancient Greeks

I’ve been reading a Graphic Novel adaptation of The Odyssey and some others about Greek gods with Finnegan. In anticipation of some Savage Worlds Heroic Greek adventures I’ve been working on a few Ancient Greeks…

This isn’t really helping out towards my goal of finishing all my Dark Age DBA armies by the 25th… but it’s fun!

(Remember: click on the pictures for a bigger version)

From left to right we have: a Mega Miniatures Amazon Archer, a Black Tree Design hoplite, a Crusader Miniatures hoplite, Wargames Foundry Spartan, a Black Tree Design Psiloi (skirmisher), and another Crusader Miniatures hoplite.

While the figures themselves are pretty comparable, there is a huge difference in the shields!

Oh, I should mention that the BTD “Psiloi/skirmisher” came from a pack of “Spearmen” which were sent with some odd little American football shaped shields that I have never seen any reference to… So I stole a smallish shield from an old pack of Rafm Skirmishers and gave this fellow a couple javelins and called him a “skirmisher”.

Anybody out there know of any good (28mm) models of Heroes and Horrors of Greek Myth and Legend...?

Coming soon on Tim’s Miniature Wargaming Blog:

Should have another DBA Game Report and some Scottish Spear up shortly...

Then it's on to the Anglo-Saxon Spear!

  1. Nice looking figures - whoah, though that BTD hoplite is huge compared to the Crusader & Foundry guys. Nice figures and painting all around though. Best, Dean
