I finished up a few more English Civil War types – a gun for
big battles and some skirmishing Scotsmen - and hope to finish up a few more
before moving on to something new (Seven Years War?).
(Remember: click on the pictures
for a bigger version):
English Civil War gun and crew.
The crew are a recent acquisition from The Assault Group.
The gun itself I was given by my friend John. I’m not sure of the manufacturer,
but I think it may have been an old 30mm range…? The Barrel is from Renedra.
A few Englsih Civil War Scots in trews and breeches. The
figures are from Wargames
Foundry
Coming soon on Tim’s Miniature Wargaming Blog:
The Artillery piece I rushed to finish up so I could play
some DBA-X this week. I played a game of it with the kids this afternoon.
Hopefully I’ll have a few pics of that shortly after this!
Tomorrow I’m planning to play a
game of Warrior
Knights in the afternoon and kick off a new A
Song of Blades and Heroes/Song
of Deeds and Glory campaign in the evening. Hopefully I’ll have a
report of that up on Sunday morning.
Inspired by Millsy’s
Mad Mega-post of the Astra Militarum’s Military Might I dug out a few
of my own Catachan figures to finish up (which are nearly just) and I have two
units of ECW Horse I’d really like to finish up in the next week or so and then
I’ll likely shift focus and start painting some Seven Years War stuff (or
perhaps some more 40K stuff…?)... so hopefully that'll all get posted soon-ish.
Excellent work on the gun and crew!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to a Big Battle ECW game from you.
Thanks Jonathan!
DeleteI should clarify that it wasn't "Big Battle" as in there were multiple commands per side - it was just "big" as in the battle being represented is more than the usual skirmished I play.
I probably won't get to posting the battle report until Sunday as I have our bi-weekly Savage Worlds-Realms of Cthulhu-Masks of Nyarlathotep campaign this evening, playing Warrior Knights tomorrow afternoon, and starting a Song of Blades and Heroes skirmish campaign tomorrow evening!? Whew!? Gonna be a busy weekend!
I've not seen and TAG ECW painted up before. Very nice indeed mate and lovely brushwork setting them off.
ReplyDeleteThanks Millsy! I find the TAG stuff a little "hit and miss" - these ones are definitely hits! Fun and straightforward to paint and look pretty okay when done.
DeleteGorgeous, the 'gun and crew ' vignette is a masterpiece!
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil! I'd wanted to track down some very small bearings to pile up as some shot, but wasn't able to do so. (all the spare ones I have left over from bicycle repairs are a bit big to believably be shot for this gun! I suppose if I track some down I could add it later!
