This is the Campaign Page for an in-person role-playing/skirmish miniatures fantasy adventure campaign I ran beginning in April 2025.
The initial Campaign followed the retinue of Lady Ismira Ravensflight, Knight of the Realm, during her campaign to reclaim her ancestral homelands (the Vale of Ravensflight) that had fallen to chaos during the upheaval caused by decades of war, famine and plague...
After Lady Ismira met an untimely end, a second campaign was established following the adventures of a band of Dwarves that had come to the Vale of Ravensflight in search of ancient relics of their ancestors!

The Adventures
First Campaign - Following the Adventures of Lady Ismira Ravensflight and her retinue...
The Journey to the Vale of Ravensflight - wherein the Retinue, after long months of journeying, finally arrive at the borders of the Ravensflight ancestral lands, only to be assaulted by a pack of grubby Ratlings!
The Defence of Gromlet - Lady Ismira and her retinue and a collection of conscripted farmers defend the hamlet of Gromlet against a raiding party of Ratlings.
The Pursuit of the Ratlings - Lady Ismira and her retinue and a small collection of conscripted farmers and woodsmen track the Ratlings back to their raiding camp.
Assault on the Ratlings Lair - After returning to Gromlet and raising a larger contingent of farmers and other locals, Lady Ismira and her retinue march into the mountains to assault the Lair of the Ratlings!

First Campaign
Lady Ismira Ravensflight's Retinue at the outset of the Campaign
DEAD CHARACTERS
Lady Ismira - Knight of the Realm (Played by Orion)
Lady Ismira Ravensflight, Daughter of Lord Murtagh and Lady Isolda who were knights of the realm that departed their lands for a campaign two decades ago, before their sole daughter's birth, and never returned.
The lands had been left in the hands of a steward who died a decade later without naming an heir to his duties, simply because he didn't believe he could die or be unable to fulfill his duties before the knights returned!
Although her father had passed during the campaign, her mother still survives and lives in the capital with the king as a military advisor.
The lady Ismira wears the mantle of the giant raven which serves as the birthright for the heir of the Ravensflights. Also fights with the magic black sword Idinshield, which is said to magically move to parry deathblows away from it's bearer. She travels with her pack-St. Bernard Hamlet, who she received on her 12th birthday and raised from a pup to the man-sized beast he is today.
She is known to be something of a brash and rather uncouth woman, preferring the comforts of arms and armour over the politics of nobility and command. She does better with a small group that she can lead from the front than a regiment that requires orders and tactics. A part of her being ordered to retake her ancestral lands was to keep her from fouling her mother's political ambitions with her lack of tact and overall ineptitude at military command.

Raloros - Apprentice Spellcaster (Played by Finnegan)
Raloros spent almost all of their life living in the Capital serving the Grand Wizard of the Realm. Eventually they were taken on as an apprentice and continued their studies under the Grand Wizard. At some point the Grand Wizard of the Realm decided Raloros was a little too "sheltered" and needed some "practical" experience of magic - and the world around them. So when a request for a wizard to accompany a Knight of the Realm on a quest to retake their ancestral homeland came up, Raloros was volunteered for the job!

Yodrick - Heavy Dwarf Infantry (Played by Finnegan)
Yodrick was one of Finnegan's secondary characters... who might have been a primary character... had he not died in the VERY FIRST ENCOUNTER!?
Yodrick had joined the Knight's Retinue after parting ways with a mercenary company he'd served with for many years during The Wars. They marched from the Capital to the very borders of Lady Isimira's realm where he was cut down by a pack of ratmen that ambushed the retinue! He bled out on the road, never having made it to their destination...

Megan - Assassin (Played by Amanda)
Megan was trying to escape her old life as an assassin before it was ended prematurely by rivals or friends and relatives of her many victims bent of vengeance. Along the road she met up with Lady Ismira's retinue and offered up her services as a "scout".

After the death of Lady Ismira, she settled down on a farm near Gromlet with Amelia and the two raised Yorrick as their own.
Amelia - Veteran Archer (Played by Amanda)
Amelia is the older sister of Luciana (one of Finnegan's characters), a peasant who did a lot of hunting (POACHING!) in her early years, ended up marching off to serve with the army after her younger sister was conscripted - to protect her!

After the death of Lady Ismira, Amelia settled down on a farm near Gromlet with Megan and the two raised Yorrick as their own.
Luciana - Crossbow (Played by Finnegan)
Luciana is the younger of Amelia the Archer (one of Amanda's Characters) a peasant who was conscripted to serve in the Realm's Army near the end of the long wars. She was trained with the Crossbow and fought in many battles alongside her sister under the command of Lady Ismira!

After the death of Lady Ismira, Lucianna settled for a time near Gromlet with her sister, occasionally looking for work here and there. The farming life was not for her, though...
Yorrick - Young Child/Dog Handler (NPC)
Yorrick was a small orphan the retinue met on their march from the Capitol who became the handler of Hamlet the Dog of Burden

After the death of Lady Ismira, Yorrick was adopted by Amelia and Megan who settled down on a farm near Gromlet and raised Yorrick as their own.
Hamlet - Gigantic Dog of Burden (NPC)
Hamlet is a gentle dog of vast proportions and capable of hauling a great deal of equipment. He is very friendly, but very protective of young Yorrick!

The Realm

Ravensdown - the capital of the Vale of Ravensflight and traditional seat of power of the Ravensflight family.
