Blood Bowl League: Match #5 - Gnarly Gobbos versus Sakura Blossom (Gnomes)

I finally got in my fifth game in the Bridge City Blood Bowl League's second season! This game was against Sakura Blossom, the Gnome team, and the ONLY team in the league doing WORSE than me...

Before the game I hired two more Goblin Linemen - which I knew would effectively mean the Gnomes would get 80,000 gold in bonus petty cash (on top of some 270,000 they were already getting... at that point, I figured, what difference is another 80,000 going to make?!)

The Gnomes were down one of their Treemen, so the coach used some of that sweet, sweet petty cash to hire Deeproot Strongbranch - the same star player Treeman the Gobbos faced in their game against the Tossers. (Or, as maybe the case, hired some Dryad impersonating Deeproot Strongbranch?)

Regardless, hearing of Strongbranches potential appearance, Franki Sweatscab and Leon Cankersore started having PTSD flashbacks...

To start the game the Gnomes kicked off to the Gnarly Gobbos..

#22 Jo Green - one of the rookie lineman, playing his first game, keen to show he was a useful addition to the team, scooped up the ball and ran it forward to "Icky" Russ the Gobbos Doom Diver!

Norg the Troll successfully remembered why he was there and even remember it was NOT to each his fellow teammates... and picked up Russ and lobbed him over the Gnomes front line.

#37 "Icky" Russ - the Goblin Doom Diver - successfully glided into a near perfect landing and ran it in for the Gobbos first touchdown one the VERY FIRST TURN OF THE GAME!

The crowd went WILD!!!

(I only had to burn three of my four re-rolls to make this happen!)

Inspired by the Gobbos amazing play... The gnomes tried to do something similar... The painted Gnome (or maybe it was just the only one not covered in flour from working their side gigs at the Keebler factory...?) caught the ball and ran it up to a Gnome Lineman waiting by the teams Treeman... or... um... Dryad...?

The Treeman/Dryad threw the Gnome up the field... but lacking the finely crafted wings that "Icky" Russ uses, the poor Gnome came crashing to the ground in a heap.

To add insult to injury, Franky Sweatscab ran up and fouled the poor fellow when the ref wasn't looking.

Meanwhile, the Gnarly Gobbos #48, Lil Bopper - The Pogoer - snapped up the ball and went bouncing up the field.

A swarm of mean little goblins cleared a path for the bouncing maniac.

Gnomes tried to give chase, but just could NOT catch the little blighter, in fact I think they even made him go faster!?

(I think the painted dwarf tried to throw a block against the Pogoer... and got a push result... which only pushed him further up the field!)

and the Pogoer bounded into the end zone scoring the Gobbos SECOND Touchdown!?

Ale sales were definitely up at this point, amongst the celebratory Gobbos fans... as were attempts at pickpocketing (to PAY for all those ale sales!)

Kicking off to the Gnomes again, once again it was the painted Gnome that received the ball and tried to rush it up to the one of the Gnomes Fox runners... The Gnome lobbed the ball forward, it bounced off the foxes face and landed straight back in the gnomes hands... which... ended the gnomes activation, but despite the failed hand-off, because it ended up not landing on the ground and being caught by a member of the team (who happened to be the one that had attempted the hand-off) a turn-over was not caused!?

The turn-over was caused when one of the rooted Dryad/"Treemen"tried to pick up a Gnome Lineman and throw them down the field... or.. AT one of the Gobbos, but instead spiked the poor little fellow into the Gnome Beastmaster, knocking them down (and stunning the lineman!)

A pack of goblins ganged up on the other gnome beast master, knocking them to the ground and then kicking them while they were down until the little fellow had to be carted off to the Gnome dug out to recover for a few drives...

With the two Dryad/"Treemen" rooted in place, #28 Dagadyr, one of the Gobbos Trained Trolls, wandered away from the line of scrimmage with a rumbly in his tummy and looking for some Gnomes to snack on...

With a swarm of mean little goblins and a troll bearing down on them, the Painted Gnome changed his plan and retreated from the fox and tried to hand off the ball to a Gnome Thrower... and the EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED - Painted Gnome attempted a hand-off, Gnome Thrower failed to catch the ball, it bounced straight back to the Painted Gnome, who successfully caught the bounce...

So the Gnome Thrower ran ahead shouting at the Painted Gnome to follow

(I think the plan here was to get the ball to the Thrower, who would toss the ball up the field to the fox who was totally sitting - like a good boy! - in the open!)

I think one of the Dryad/"Treemen" tried to throw a block at Norg the Troll and ended up knocking both of them down... which... kind of worked out for them, because, as it turns out, getting knocked down is one way to uproot a rooted Treeman before the end of a drive! Although the Treeman still has to try and stand up, which isn't always the easiest thing for them to do!!

But the Dryad/"Treeman" knocking themselves over ended their turn... and the goblins and Troll surged forward...

Norg also got up and walked away from the rooted/fallen trees. The goblins and trolls just smashed their way through the Gnome line and chased down the Painted Gnome, knocking him to the ground and beating him mercilessly.

Dagadyr the Troll was swatting gnomes clear off the field into the stands (where they were recovered and taken back to their team's dugout!

and Lil Bopper the Gnarly Gobbos Pogoer, was right there to scoop up the ball...

and run it in for a THIRD FUCKING TOUCHDOWN!?

There was rioting in the bleachers... the game had to be put on hold while security beat a few of the goblin fans to death to scare the rest into simmering down for a bit...

With only a few seconds left in the first half of the game, most of the goblins wanted to retire to the dugout and wait for the riot to settle down... but the coach insisted they go out and kick the ball to the Gnomes again... so the goblins didn't even bother trying to set up a defensive pattern and just kicked off the ball and laughed at the Gnomes try to recover it and bring it forward before the whistle blew ending the first half!

To start the second half the Gnarly Gobbos again kicked off the ball to the Gnomes and were putting in very little effort at this point...

The Gnomes did manage to get their ball handed off to one of the foxes who bounded down the field at great speed and managed to finally score a  TOUCHDOWN for the Gnomes!

There has not been so much excitement in Sakura Blossom Stadium since the Gnome Guides hired Fartzy the Clown to blow up balloon animals for all the kids in town...

Kicking the ball back to the Gobbos, the ball was received and rushed up to "Icky" Russ, who was picked up and thrown down the field by Norg the Troll...

As the Doom Diver tried to glide in for another landing (and another touchdown) a gust of wind carried him off course and straight into a Gnome Lineman. The stout little fellow that cushioned "icky" Russes landing was seriously injured and out for the rest of the game...

I think Russ was also injured at this point... or he was walloped by the Dryad/"Treeman" as he tried to stand up and was injured bad enough that he'll be missing the next game!?

Goblins bullying a Gnome Lineman.

The cherry-picking Painted Gnome ONCE AGAIN ended up in possession of the ball and tried rushing it up the field to pass off to one of the foxes...

The fox got it and tried to dodge around all the Goblins... only to be bashed into the pitch by Dagadyr the troll - badly injuring the fox and sending them off for the rest of the game.

The ball was recovered by #4 Leon Cankersore!

Goblins came chasing after the ball, but a pile of goblins fell back to run defence for the Cankersore.

Cankersore deeked around the Gnomes and handed the ball off to Lil Bopper the Pogoer...

... who bounded down the field to score his THIRD TOUCHDOWN, and the Gobbos fourth of the game!!!

Another riot broke out in the stands as the concession ran out of ale...

Time in the game was running short as the Gobbos kicked off to the Gnomes once again!

Fawkzy the Gnarly Gobbos Bomma was out of the field for the first time in the game and saw the fox running with the ball along the opposite side of the field with no goblins nearby to stop it... he though; "now is my time!" and lit the fuze on a bomb to throw and the fox... and promptly dropped it and blew himself up, knocking him out of the rest of the game...

That fucking bomber has only ever injured players on my OWN TEAM!?

Leon Cankersore and Lil Bopper gave chase, but the fox dipped, ducked, and dodged around them and SCORED THE GNOMES SECOND TOUCHDOWN - ON THE GNOMES VERY LAST TURN OF THE GAME!!!

The Gnarly Gobbos, having kicked off to start this half had ONE MORE TURN themselves... could they pull off another one-turn touchdown without their soaring star "Icky" Russ!?

The kicked ball went a little short and Leon Cankersore scooped it up and ran it to #16 S. Maulfart...

#4 Norg the Trained Troll remembered why he was there... did NOT eat Maulfart... and ROLLED A SIX for his throw - making a SUPERB THROW!

S. Maulfart successfully landed on his feet (making the first successful completion for a troll on my team this season!)

and ran that ball in for a FIFTH TOUCHDOWN for the Gnarly Gobbos on the VERY LAST TURN OF THE GAME!?

Goblin fans went WILD... and they trashed the entire town and razed a few villages nearby!!

I scored more touchdowns in this one game than the last five games combined!?

(the saddest thing is, the Gnomes ALSO scored more touchdowns in this game than all five previous games?! Seriously I felt kind of bad for them... they actually had WORSE luck than ME! Like I have an uncanny ability to roll ones at the worst fucking time and to fail attempts to do things multiple times in a row defying all sense of reasonable probability!? fail roll that can only fail on a one... roll a one... use a re-roll... roll another one... But holy fuck, these Gnomes... Every time a Treeman activates they have to roll a d6 and on a one they are "rooted" for the rest for he Drive - with the exception of the one-turn-touchdown drives - there wasn't a SINGLE drive were BOTH Treemen didn't end up rooted!?)

With this win, the Gnarly Gobbos are no longer in second last place in the league... they are now in 13th place... in a league of 16 teams... They are still in last place in the stunty division, however... and unlikely to budge from there! And still in second last place in the conference (ahead of the Gnomes)...

This win gained the Gnarly Gobbos a thousand new Dedicated Fans! (oh, they'll lose interest after the next game... and we'll be back to the original thousand hardcore dedicated fans that will NEVER give up on their team!)

My Doom Diver, "Icky" Russ, is out for a game... but I made enough money I can finally hire the 'Ooligan and have a full team of 16 players! (though I'll only be starting with 15 next game) it means I COULD start with some of the Specialist players in reserve for use later in the game... OR... I can throw all those specialists out in the first turn and try for MAX DAMAGE (to ONE team or the OTHER!?) and know I have spare linemen to replace them for the rest of the game...

My next game is against the Tossers again... where I'll likely be facing those THREE FUCKING TREEMEN... AGAIN!?

Game Plan 2026 - Q4

Before we get on with the plan for Q4, let's take a quick look back at Q3...

2026 - Q3 In Review

Wow... this past quarter feels like it just BLEW PAST!! And yet, trying to remember stuff that happened at the beginning off it feels like FOREVER AGO!?

The original PLAN for Q3 can be found here:

Game Plan 2026 - Q3

Q3 GAMES

I planed to play some games...

I played some games!!

According to Board Game Geek, I played:

  • Carcassonne x9
  • Blood Bowl: Third Season Edition x5
  • Magical Athlete x2
  • Forest Shuffle x1
  • Just Desserts x1
  • Sagrada x1
  • Space Invaders x1
  • Stargrave x1
  • Test of Honour: The Samurai Miniatures Game Gaming Set (Second Edition) x1
  • UNO x1

Total: 23 Games!!

Blood Bowl

This was were my attention had gone and there was a new local league starting in July and so I signed up for it with the Gnarly Gobbos - the team I played with when I last played Blood Bowl - nearly 35 years ago!! It was only two games a month and most of the people seemed like good folks! So far I have played four games and the league continues into the next quarter (I was supposed to have played six by now... but Game Five kind of got held up - not entirely by ME! - and so...)

Also I got an extra games with Vera!

Warhammer Quest

I'd kind of hoped I'd get to finishing up the last of the Soulblight Gravelords needed to play Warhammer Quest: Cursed City - Nemesis BEFORE the end of the Summer/Quarter - thinking it would be nice to get STARTED and establish a regular game night before classes begin again.... but that just hasn't happened...

Age of Sigmar

I had hoped I'd be able to catch some action at the tail end of the Warhammer Stores Summer Hobby League... but that just didn't happen. I was too busy with Blood Bowl and the house renovation...

40K

I had considered the possibility of playing a few games of the new edition at some point... Even picked up the new rules... but just haven't been feeling it.

I'd rather play something like Wrath & Glory (the 40K Role-Playing Game!) and occasionally bust out the miniatures whenever needed for a larger battle!

Other Games

After visiting  Musée de l'Armée at the Hôtel National des Invalides in Paris, I'd been thinking a lot about the Great War and World War Two again... However, that just has not happened... and I don't think there will be much movement on either of these until sometime next year.

I DID however get to play a game of Stargrave - kicking off the Hope Eternal campaign!

I also finally got to play a game with Trevor and tried out Test of Honour!

We did get in a few more boardgames...

Amanda and I played nine games of Carcassonne IN Carcassonne, which instantly put it into MOST PLAYED GAME OF 2026 (so far) position!

I also picked up a new board game - Forest Shuffle - and I've played it once, but Amanda got in a game before that with other friends!

And we had a whole board game afternoon with Vera and Charlie and played Magical Athlete (twice!), Space Invaders, and Just Desserts!

(also I've noticed Finnegan has been playing a lot more board games with his friends lately - on the regular RPG nights when not enough people show up to play the campaign or if someone in particular is REQUIRED for the next adventure and can't make it...)

Q3 MINIATURES

I did hope I'd get to finishing up the last of the Soulblight Gravelords - which will set me up for finishing off Warhammer Quest: Cursed City AND give me another faction to play with in Age of Sigmar...

There were also the last few things for Warhammer Quest: Darkwater... but I already had a feeling I probably wouldn't get to finishing off those until I was done the stuff for Cursed City and and actually playing the Nemesis campaign!

I did pledge to paint a few things for the Age of Sigmar Summer Hobby League being run through the Warhammer Store... The Tzaangor Warflock and a few others, but that just didn't happen at all...

I was fairly certain I'd be working on some Blood Bowl stuff -  continue touching up some of the older teams and painting some other ones, new (Bretonnian and Tomb Kings) and old (Dwarves and Elves) - and there were also a few tokens and templates to paint up!

What I DID get to painting was...

The Skaven were to finish up a Skaven Blood Bowl team I'd painted 35 years ago. I touched up the bases and numbers and names on all the team members and finished painting two lineman that I'd never finished painting back in the day, and rebased and finished painting a rat ogre.

The Hammertown Tiger Rats

More pictures of them can be seen here:

Blood Bowl - Hammertown Tiger-Rats

I also finished up a few things for the Gnarly Gobbos - the team I'm playing in the league - including an old Goblin Ball-and-Chain Fanatic, as well as a pair of more recently acquired Doom Divers

The Gnarly Gobbos

I did acquire a few more things...

GAME PLAN 2026 - Q4

And so... the plans for Q4...

These plans are at best, as Deadpool would say, an "educated wish"...

Actual line from the movie...

(©2024 marvel/disney/etc used here entirely without their permission)

I'd LOVE to play some games and paint some miniatures... buuuuut... being back in school full time is... kind of a lot.

Q4 GAMES

Assuming I'm still alive... I plan to play some games...

Blood Bowl

The League continues, I think, until the end of October after which there are play-offs (Which it is not likely I'll be a part of...) I have four more regular league games to play (as I didn't actually get to playing the September games IN SEPTEMBER!!

Also at the beginning of October there is a one-day Blood Bowl Tournament I'd been thinking of playing in... but now am thinking I just don't have the time...

Warhammer Quest

I had really hoped we'd be playing again by now... Hopefully we'll get going sometime THIS QUARTER and be able to keep a weekly game night going and maybe finish off the Cursed City Nemesis campaign by the end of the year... (maybe get in some extra games over the Holidaze!) and FINALLY move on to Warhammer Quest: Darkwater!

Age of Sigmar

The plan is to at the very least finish the Lord of Change and another Treelord and then both Amanda and I will participate in Beast Feast - a mega battle with only models with the MONSTER keyword, that have been pledged, assembled, and painted within the last 4-6 weeks!

MAYBE I'll get in some games over the holidaze? At least some games of Spearhead!?

I would like to get a campaign going again... but I don't think that's happening this year!

Stargrave

I do hope to get in another game or two of our Occasional Stargrave Campaign this Quarter!

Other Miniature Games

With Blood Bowl and Warhammer Quest and the Stargrave campaign going on, I'm not sure I'll get around to any other games... but...

I have been thinking about 40K a bit, especially around setting up a narrative campaign playing out smallish designed scenarios (similar to The Signal Campaign I organized a few years back). but I don't think it's going to happen THIS QUARTER... maybe sometime next year...

Likewise still thinking about Bolt Action a lot... and have another small campaign I've been working on for Vera and her Hungarians... but I have a feeling that might not happen until sometime next year as well...

Playing Test of Honour with Trevor and visiting museums in Europe has kind of got me thinking about OTHER GAMES - and history (or history-inspired) games again...

Role-Playing Games?

I would love to get some kind of role-playing game going on... there are SO MANY things I'd like to do, though... Maybe wait until we're done with Warhammer Quest? Hopefully Warahmemr Quest and the Stargrave campaign will scratch that itch for the time being!

Board Games!

I would like to get playing some more board games again... It feels like we've played a FEW more board games so far this year, than we had last year!?

Q4 MINIATURES

What will I get painted in the last three months of the year...

Well... if nothing else. I'd LOVE to try and get XX miniatures done, so I can at least have painted more miniatures than I've acquired this year. This might be tricky, though... over the last five or six years I've been averaging about 200 miniatures a year, which is about 16 miniatures per month. I'm way below that average so far this year, and with all that's going on at school, I might find even 16 miniatures a month challenging to do...

So far this year I've acquired...

28mm Foot: 124

28mm Mounted/Beasties: 10

28mm Vehicles/Monsters: 3

28mm Small Bits/Tokens: 46

28mm Larger Terrain bits: 2

and so far  have managed to PAINT...

28mm Foot: 65

28mm Mounted/Beasties: 2

28mm Vehicles/Monsters: 0

28mm Endless Spells: 0

28mm Small Bits/Tokens: 37

28mm Larger Terrain bits: 0

So I'd need to paint at least 59x  28mm Foot, 8 Mounted/Beasties, 3 Vehicles/Monsters, and 9 Small Bits/Tokens to not have acquired more than I've painted (assuming I buy NOTHING for the rest of the year!). Ideally I'd like to paint MORE than I've acquired... so... but I'm not sure that's going to happen at this point...

There is also a new Warhammer Quest expansion on the horizon as well as a small standalone game... which would be TEN MORE miniatures?!

Last week I got thinking about priorities and ended up posting this as a reply to a comment on a post....

The painting priorities for the immediate future are as follows:

#1 - The Lord of Change and Treelord that I am assembling and painting for Beast Feast (two weeks away!)

#2 - Things required for Warhammer Quest: Cursed City - Nemesis! This is a Necromancer, three Vargheists, and ten Grave Guard/Barrow Guard. Because I'd like to get playing this with the family again! (Ideally ASAP... but after the Beast Feast models... If I could finish it by the end of October I'd be happy - as that way we could start playing in November!)

#3 - Things required for Warhammer Quest: Darkwater - because I'd like to play this after we finish up the Cursed City Nemesis campaign.... and it will be easier to justify purchases of the upcoming expansion(s) if I have the stuff for the base set finished! This could also include the Lumineth Adventuring Party and any expansions that come out in the coming months (if this could be done by the end of the year, I'd be pretty happy as I'd be ready to play whenever we finished up the Nemesis campaign!)

#4 - Blood Bowl Stuff... First the Nurgle Team Im hoping to play in the next season (starting in January!), then the Tomb Kings (for me to take to the NEXT tournament -in the new year, probably march...? and/or for Amanda to have a team to play...?) and if I got all that done... maybe pick up a Dark Elf team (because I think Amanda would like the Dark Elves...?)

#5 Other Stuff... There will be other stuff... like maybe the occasional thing for Stargrave... or Bolt Action or some Age of Sigmar stuff (like maybe finishing up the Blood Knights as they will be the ONLY THING I need to finish the Soulblight Gravelords Spearhead army, once the Vargheists are done, OR the Fiends of Slaanesh - as they are the only thing needed to finish up the second Hedonites of Slaanesh Spearhead army I have!). They may slip in BEFORE some of these things are done, but ideally I should try and keep as much OTHER STUFF off the workbench so as NOT TO GET DISTRACTED BY IT!!!

I do have a few re-basing projects on the go - mostly for the occasional Stargrave campaign we started three weeks ago (and I STILL haven't finished the game report!?) we won't be playing that again until after Beast Feast, so I don't need to worry about that much for now!)

Anything else is probably going to have to wait until the new year...

What have you been up to for the last few months?

What do YOU have planned for the next few months!?

LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS!!

Blood Bowl League: Match #4 - Gnarly Gobbos versus The Elm Street Slashers (Necromantic Horror)

For my fourth game in the Bridge City Blood Bowl League (Second Season) I played my first interdivisional game against the Elm Street Slashers - a Necromantic Horror team!

This was also the first non-stunty team I played... and... wow... Goblins suck.

David and his team of Necromantic Horrors, ready to go.

The Gnarly Gobbos received the kick off for the first half of the game.

I'd decided to leave the Doom Diver OFF the field and focus on SMASHING THINGS with the Ball and Chain and Chainsaw... this was probably a mistake... I could maybe have left one of those in the dug out and tried for a one-turn touchdown... but the Slashers had kind of set up to BLOCK that kind of Shenanigans, so...

ALSO... in this game **I** had the lower Current Team Value, so I spent some of that sweet, sweet free monies... on some bribes for the referees (three of them, but I also had to spend some cash out of my treasury to get the third, because I didn't get THAT much Petty Cash (I think it was around 120,000 gold - Bribes are 50,000 gold each). I'm not sure WHY I bought bribes, since the Ball and Chain Fanatic and Chanisaw Loonie are usually out of the game due to INJURING THEMSELVES before they're actually sent off by refs for illegal weapon usage!?

#48 Lil Bopper caught the ball

Hotlicks Wobblespot and Ted "Wildboar" Grogan moved into blocking positions

Fungusface, the Chainsaw Loonie, cut apart a zombie lineman (I think...?).

Jean Klean, the Ball-and-Chain Fanatic surged through the Slashers lines, knocking down more Lineman... maybe...?

Even the Troll surged forward knocking back one of the Ghoul runners..

In retaliation, one of the Slashers Werewolves charged forth and knocked down Fungusface, who fell on his chainsaw, seriously injuring himself (see? out of the game before the referee even noticed he was up to no good!)

Flesh Golems and Wraiths went after Leon Cankersore and S. Maulfart on the Goblins left...

Lil Bopper bounded up the field, swinging left... the rest of the team surged in that general direction in support of the move.

Leon Cankersore and Ted "Wildboar" Grogan running defence for the Pogoer!

Jean Klean veered in the general direction of the werewolf, but was unable to do much more than knock it down. Fawkzy the Bomma, threw a few bombs around, with little effect.

Logan knocked down, the Slashers Wraith and Ghoul go for Lil Bopper...

but Bopper stays on his feet... or... rather stays upright on his pogo stick and dodges out of the way...

And just bounds away from the horrors for the end zone!

With Dirk Blood trailing behind running defence, Lil Bopper almost makes it there... potentially scoring the first touchdown against this team in the league so far!!!

But one of the Slashers Ghouls races back and blocks Lil Bopper, knocking him to the astrogranite! And the Ball is loose for anyone to grab!

The Ghoul manages to pounce on the ball first!

Meanwhile the rest of the Slashers are beatind down the Gobbos left and right!

Hotlicks Wobblespot joins Dirk Blood and Lil Bopper to try and wrest that ball away from the Ghoul and back under the Gobbos control right on the scoring line!

A Wraith is knocked down, but so is the Gobbos Troll!

A Werewolf rushes back to aid the Ghoul, hearing it's desperate cries for help.

Dirk Blood is knocked out and another Ghoul comes to help out...

The Ghoul with the ball shoves his way past the diminutive Lil Bopper...

and rushes down the field past the rest of his team trying to overwhelm the Gobbos Ball-and-Chain Fanatic!

Who was knocked down... and knocked himself out... and was out of the game...

The Ghoul rushes up the field, followed by a protective entourage of an additional Ghoul, Werewolf, and Wraith... but Lil Bopper gives chase, trying to trip up the Ghoul!

The Ghoul Breaks away and Fawkzy tries to intercept and throw bombs at the Ghoul, but the Slashers other Werewolf interferes with the Bomma's plans

Ted "Wildboar" Grogan rushes to block the Ghoul...

Lil Bopper Catches up AGAIN!

Grogan makes a play to take the Ghoul down, but the slippery dead thing, covered in goo, just slides away!

...and scores the first touchdown of the game!!!

And, I think that was the end of the first half... so the Gnarly Gobbos were kicking to the Slashers!

The Slashers Ghouls scooped up the ball and made for the Gobbos sidelines, while their Were wolf punched a hole through the middle, stunning #16, S. Maulfart!

A wraith knocks down Fawkzy the Bomma, while the other wraith along with a Flesh Golem and zombie try to take down Dagadyr the Troll. Any yet ANOTHER werewolf tries to block "Icky" Russ from going anywhere...

Once again is Lil Bopper, the Goblin Pogoer, and Ted '"Wildboar" Grogan, moving up to try and block the Ghouls advance!

Just a mad, pell-mell melee in midfield!

The Ghoul runner tries to sneak around the side. Dirk Blood joins Grogan in the attempt to stop the Ghoul advance...

Grogan is down and the Ghoul ducks off to the side and runs to centre field...

Where the ball is handed off to a werewolf who runs it in for a second touchdown for the Slashers!!

Receiving another kick off, the Gobbos get the ball to their boy, "Icky" Russ!

#28, Dagadyr the Troll, manages to remember why he's here AND NOT to eat the goblin, and instead HURLS "Icky" Russ down the field!

But he does not complete the landing and the ball scatters freely...

One of the Werewolves snatches up the ball and the Slashers are off up the field with the ball again!

Wraith and Ghouls kick the poor Doom Diver while he's down!

The push forward leaves a trail of Gobbos flying through the air and hitting the astrogranite HARD!

and the Werewolf runs in a THIRD touchdown for the Slashers!!

There is ONE TURN left and the Gobbos are recieving a kick off! Can the pull off another one-turn touchdown!? The elements are all in play; Lil Bopper, the fastest moving Gobbo on the team is ready to receive the ball and dash it forward to the Doom Diver, "Icky" Russ. Dagadyr the Troll is still in the game and standing by ready to hurl Russ up the field... The kick goes up, the ball couldn't come down in an more ideal place - right between the Pogoer and the Doom Diver!!

Nope! #48, Lil Bopper, the Goblin Pogoer bounds forward to scoop up the ball and bring it forward to "Icky" Russ... and fails to do so, knocking the ball forward up the pitch... and the whistle blows, ending the second half!

Well... it went about as well as I could have hoped... Would have been really cool if I could have scored that first touchdown against this team as they have completely shut out all other teams so far this league - including Vera's Dwarf team, the Mi'Ami Dagfins!

Somewhere along the way Bill S. Pestmaim was "Killed" in the confusion of one of the smash-ups... I let him die and kept the apothecary in case someone else more important was killed or seriously injured... I'll probably just buy a new lineman and call him Bill S. Pestmaim and say the money was spent on a resurrection spell... which are cheap for goblins as they're really just an excitable fungus and mostly need fresh clean water to revivify them!

Jean Klean knocked himself out good with he old Ball & Chain when the slashers tripped him up and will be out the next game (and has a deep dislike of all thing undead now...)

Lil Bopper was aware MVP for that initial, but ultimately unsuccessful rush! He had enough experience that I COULD get a new random skill... but I think I might hold off and see if I can't get a few more points for him and pick something useful!!

S. Maulfart and "Icky" Russ also have enough points for a random skill... but I think I'll also hold off...

My next game is against Sakura Blossom, the Gnome team... the only team in the entire league that is actually doing WORSE than me! This will be the chance for ONE of us to finally win a game!!

(Ugggghhh... unless the game ends in a draw... damn... I would rather see them win than it end in a draw... because that would just be TOO SAD... seriously, I might just have to throw the game if it looks like that might happen!!?)
