Finished up just in time for my next game of Apocalypse! (Just need to finish up the last one and they can be fielded as a complete Super Heavy Detachment!)
An Eldar Tempest Heavy Grav-Tank from Armorcast.
Another View
The two of them together!
The next one will have a light turquoisy-blue...
Here they are with a few other models to get a sense of scale. At some point I might make a base for them and raise them off the ground a touch to look a little bigger/taller and like they're floating a little bit...?
Coming Soon to Tim's Miniature Wargaming Blog:
I played a game of Apocalypse last night with Other Tim and another one this afternoon with Orion... so hopefully I'll get some game reports posted for those...
After that...? I think I'll crank out the last Tempest and THEN I'll get cracking on some Necromunda. I'd wanted to start a (trail) campaign THIS weekend so I could wrap it up before September when I play to run another with a few more people...

Nice work!
ReplyDeleteI do like the blue and green one more, but that's just a personal preference for those colors. The other one with the one (orange and purple?) may be good camouflage for some alien worlds. Both are painted well.
A stand sounds like a good idea, for appearance's sake at least.
Cheers!
DeleteThe base colour on all of them is Army Painter "Alien Purple". The contrast between that and the orange is a little more... vivid...(?) than I'd imagined... I'm sure I'll get over it - generally I like orange and purple as a colour combination. And, after all those coats of orange I had to put on, I'm NOT repainting it!!! (Seriously, orange is the WORST! Just never enough pigment in those paints! What was I thinking!?)
Ah. Well, I don't always see colors well. Yeah, orange is often one of the worst colors for getting good coverage. :P
DeleteOr it's just computers. It looks more blue than it is in real life on my computer as well...
DeleteLove it! So lovely and crisp. And just to balance things up I reckon I like the orange and purple better!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Preacherman!
DeleteNice paint job. You had me fooled because my initial thought was "Hasn't Tim already posted about this tank before?"
ReplyDeleteI like the green one better. But if the aliens they are fighting are colour-blind along the red-green perspective, they might not see much of a difference between the two.
Thanks!
DeleteWell, to give you a bit of warning and prevent further confusion, there will be ANOTHER one in a couple days... it will be purple and blue.
Yeah who knows how other species see and how they see them? Maybe they can see the Octarine I mixed in there!?
