This week I finally finished up a unit of ten old Putrid Blightking models, which I put on 32mm bases to use as Rotswords in my Maggotkin of Nurgle.
The NEW Putrid Blightkings seem more like lightly-armoured, sumo-warrior-priests of some sort... The role of heavily armoured tanks has been passed on to the Rotswords. Putrid Blightkings are still pretty tanky... but in a 3-Health kind of way instead of the 3+ Save kind of way. Rotswords now have 3+ save... Putrid Blightkings have been reduced to a 5+ save.
While a few of these guys have bare bellies, ALL of the new Blightkings are shimmying about the battlefield with their corpulent bellies bare for the world to see... though with armoured trousers and helmets...?!
These guys read more like heavily armoured tanks than Buddha-in-plate-mail-pants, so... Rotswords...
"Rotswords"
At some point I'd like to get a box of the newer Rotswords and mix and match them with the Putrid-Rot-Blight-Sword-Kings of this unit, so it is utterly clear what the two units are.
I probably won't be rushing out to get those (or any of the NEW Putrid Blightkings) anytime SOON... I pre-ordered the Disciples of Tzeentch Warpflame Cavalcade Battleforce... and that is released this weekend! So I'll be plenty busy with THAT... and a few Tzeentch things I already have (a pile of Kairic Acolytes and Tzaangors and some flamers and a Magister on Disc of Tzeentch), and the rest of the Nurgle stuff I already OWN (which in now just the Feculent Gnarlmaw, a Harbinger of Decay, four Pussgoyle Blighlords, ten Rotmier Creed and the eight Pestigors from Darkwater!) AND the Sylvaneth for Amanda... which is, I think just the two treelords and putting the last touches on Drycha Hamadreth...?
(Oh, and then fifteen models that can be build either as Tree-Revenants or Spite-Revenants...? I'm king of leaning towards just building them ALL as Spite-Revenants... but maybe I'll wait until we've played a few more games and see which works out better...)
I also have a few Soulblight Gravelord things to finish for Cursed City: Nemesis - ten Grave Guard, a Necromancer, and three Vargheists... then I'll be SO CLOSE to finishing ALL the Soulblight Gravelords, I should really just push through and finish the Blood Knights and the Warhammer Underworlds warband and they they'll ALL be DONE (I think...?)
