Wargames Weekend 2008

The Wargames Weekend is over and I am utterly exhausted! I first of all have to thanks my lovely wife Amanda for taking care of two sickly kids, more or less on here own, so I could play games all weekend. The whole weekend was, in fact, very nearly cancelled on account of the whole family being down with the flu for the last week and a half. I kind of pulled through at the end of the week and decided to barge ahead with it. Amanda is better but still not 100%. The kids are still quite sick themselves…

The turn out was pretty darn good and the games were fun – thanks to all that participated! There were eleven participants throughout the weekend including three who drove all the way from Calgary (650km) to attend (each in separate cars!? – does anyone wonder why Canadians have the highest energy consumption rate per capita in the world…?)

I took over 150 pictures over the weekend so it will take me a bit to get sift through all of those and my pages of notes and put together some after action reports for the assorted games. Stay tuned; I should hopefully be able to get them all done in the next couple days.

Planning and preparation is already well underway for Tim’s Winter Wargames Weekend 2009 (which will be taking place 27 Feb – 1 Mar 2009)!

Thanks again to all who participated in making this a thoroughly exciting birthday weekend for me!

  1. WOW super for you!

Much gratitude sent on to your great bride!

Much like you I also have dozens of pictures to review, as the local convention here happened last weekend.

  2. You should know by now, I complain when I'm happy (only happy when I complain?).

I hope you're all on the recovery road!

  3. Well I'm glad you enjoyed the weekend so much, then!

I think the late nights set me back a bit. I've been trying my best to cough out my spleen for the last day or so....

    cheers!
