Market Stands and a Despatch Rider

Finished up a few more things last night…

(Remember: click on the pictures for a bigger version):

Market Stands and a Despatch Rider

These Market Stands came from Mega Miniatures – I’m not sure they’re available anymore. They came in a pack with the Carpet Stall I painted back in July.

I finished these up as I thought they’d make some fun background props/terrain for Song of Shadows and Dust - though these look a little more Medieval/Fantasy than Ancient… but… whatever…

Another entry for the Lead Adventure Forum Great War Painting Club - a British Despatch Rider from Great War Miniatures.

Coming soon on Tim’s Miniature Wargaming Blog:

I seem to have loaded up the painting table with Ancient Greeks. There’ll probably be a game report before you see those as I’d told the kids we’d play A Song of Blades and Heroes yesterday, but then didn’t get to that… so hopefully we’ll play this afternoon.

    1. Well, that was my hope - to use them along with the mud-brick buildings which I have used for ancients to moderns from Africa to Afghanistan... Which reminds me - I think I have another table with goods on it tucked away in the box with the Modern Afghans!

    1. Thanks Phil! I do like terrain items that are useful for more than one period - since there are so many I am fascinated with!!

  5. Excellent work on the stalls & wonderful sculpts to boot. I know the Wolsung terrain sets have some stalls, but they are not as involved as those 2. Well done!

    1. Thanks Terry! Neldoreth from An Hour of Wolves and Shattered Shields made some beautiful homemade market stalls in one of his terrain articles. I've been meaning to try doing something similar myself at some time... so many ideas for projects, so little time.

  6. This is really a pearl you did here - just, in which scale is it? Is it suitable for 28mm figures?

    1. Thanks Scheck! Yes it's 28mm. Pretty much everything you see on this blog is 28mm. There is the occasional 40mm figure that I do... I used to do a bit of 20mm... and I have megalomaniacal dreams of doing vast hordes in micro scale... but that won't likely happen any time soon.
