Monday evening Amanda and I played another game of Spearhead.
I finally found my Blades of Khorne cards, so I played the Blades of Khorne Bloodbound Gore Pilgrims against her Sylvaneth Bitterbark Copse...
Amanda decided a picture of me was required due to my incongruous attire...
The Bloodbound of Khorne charged first. A unit of Bloodwarriors charged a Treelord, to tie them up and start whitling away at them...
The Mighty Skullcrushers galloped through the woods, attacking a group of Tree-Revenants.
The Slaughterpriest and horde of Bloodreavers followed on behind, waiting to exploit the successes of the Blood Warriors and Mighty Skullcrushers...
Another unit of Blood Warriors got lost and decided to desecrate some trees off on the flank where they ended up.
The Mighty Skullcrushers failed to annihilate the Tree-Revenants...
The last remaining one slipped away through the Spirit Pathways and ended up far to the rear of the Khorne lines...
The Mighty Skullcrushers went on to charge the Kurnoth Hunters, while the surviving Blood Warriors made after the Branchwych...
The lone Tree-Revenant was spotted by the lost Blood Warriors. The Blood Warriors charged and utterly destroyed the Tree-Revenant.
The Treelord, irritated by the Slaughterpriest trying to boil its blood-sap, tried to charge him down...
The Mighty Skullcrushers kept destroying Kurnothi, only for the Branchwych to heal one and send it right back into combat... then they were charged from the rear by a group of Tree-Revenants arriving as reinforcements!
The Tree-Lord ignored the hordes of Bloodreavers and pounded the Slaughterpriest into pulp...
The last Kurnothi fled through the Spirit-Pathways, so the Mighty Skullcrushers rounded on the Tree-Revenants.
The escaped Kurnoth Hunter was caught by the Blood Warriors skulking about in the rear...
Having destroyed the Slaughterpriest, the Treelord slipped through the Spirit Pathways and charged down the Blood Warriors...
One survived it's terrifying assault.
The Mighty Skullcrushers finished off the Tree-Revenants and the surviving Bloodbound, lacking any immediate targets for their rage, set about destroying trees at random...
The Tree-Lord chased down the remaining Blood Warrior and trampled it.
The Branchwych hid in the ruins and observed the Bloodreavers...
In the end the game was a draw, both of us scoring 17 Victory Points.
Amanda's starting to get a feel for the Sylvaneth - making good use of their Spirit Pathway abilities to move them about the board, and starting to get how to use the Branchwych properly - keep here AWAY from the enemy - as her healing powers can really keep the Sylvanth going...
I probably COULD have eeked out a victory, but I kept prioritizing SLAUGHTER over scoring points.. because... BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!!
Tuesday (and/or Wednesday) we are playing the first of the Decapitation Journeys for the Night Wars campaign in Warhammer Quest: Cursed City!
I've been making progress on the Pussgoyle Blightlords/Lord of Affliction and should finish them up shortly... then I'll have ANOTHER Spearhead army to play with!!
