    1. Heh - potentially low-detail... it could be all paint on detail - but you could paint on a LOT of detail. I thought it might be something fun to do with Keira because she is ALL ABOUT making things and has been hounding me forever to teach her a bit about sculpting and converting - I thought we'd start with big things with simple bits of added on detail.

Turns out Finnegan is super interested in the idea too - probably because you CAN go to the opposite end of the spectrum - SUPER LOW DETAIL!

I think they're both at the point (mores Finnegan) that they are intimidated by all the figures they have to paint. The see all the detail on them and are self-aware enough now to realize they do't have the skillz to make them as nice as they'd LIKE to make them. So I thought this might be a step back and make painting fun and not work about following the lines - because you're making YOUR OWN LINES!

I'll probably have a few done tomorrow.

    1. Soon.

I'm just playing around with things and all over the place - not really making units of anything just yet. thought I'd start with an adventuring party for a role-playing game or really small scale skirmish - like Song of Blades and Heroes.

I'd like to do something horse and musket-y ... but the would require... well... HORSES! Maybe Seven Years War in North America - just have to find a way to make quick tricornes and muskets... maybe the occasional buckskin coat and tomahawk?

    1. ...?

      wut...?

Because the SKU starts with "STK"...? Like "Stick"...?

Something to do with the "Made in China"? Is there a numerology joke in the product codes!?

Sorry, I am a bit of a thicko and just not picking up what you're putting down...

    3. I should have said, "Love your labels".

    4. Doh! I was looking at the labels on peg packages in the picture wondering "what they heck can he be on about!?"

I forgot about the blog labels. So glad someone noticed them and enjoyed that!

    1. Not quite semi-flats - but the same idea - something simple. And creative - in a way that painting cast figures isn't...

  6. Aside from your crafty figure making idea, I have often thought that pieces like this would be useful as "standard" figures for figuring out complicated line of sight issues (no weird poses or waving arms), as well as blinds in games where you might know that there is someone there, but not if they are a space marine or a grot.
