I FINALLY finished up another batch of Normans and a few more Rohanians. I have another Rohanian Royal Guardsman and King Theoden himself painted… but they’re waiting for Gamling Army Standard Bearer to arrive as I want to put him on the base with them…
(Remember: click on the pictures for a bigger version)
These Normans are all from Gripping Beast - These ones are for you Chris!
This is Eomer and two “mounted Royal Guardsmen”. They are Lord of the Rings figures from Games Workshop. They will be one of two or three stands of knights in The Rohirim – my HOTT Army of Rohan. In addition to Gamling (whenever he shows up), which will finish off a second stand of knights (or Knight General, rather), I have two more stands of riders to paint then I’ll need to pick up some more…. Of course I have plenty of Normans to keep me busy, so there’s no real such to pick any up (not that that has ever stopped me before…).

Very nice Tim. That flag is freaking cool!
ReplyDeleteOne must always be wary of running out of miniatures to paint. It is a wise move to purchase more well before that happens. You don't want to risk the dire consequences of running out of unpainted miniatures!
ReplyDeleteEnjoying the Rohirrim especially!
HA!
ReplyDeleteThat would be dire indeed.... but I don't think I have anything to worry about. Even at my absurd rate of productivity I'm sure I could get by for a year or two before completely running out.... the problem would be running out of INTERESTING things to paint!
cheers!
The Royal Guards are great - the foot version, and the mounted Eowyn (which is one of my favourites, judging by pictures alone), are on my future acquisition list. The foot Eowyn too, but that's destined to be a gift for a departing room-mate, whereas the others will *eventually* make their way to a battlefield.
