The Mummy

For my brief foray into 200mm gaming…

(Remember: click on the pictures for a bigger version):

Sticking with the theme of “ancient Egypt” at least… sort of…

Okay not really for wargaming… but making use of those same mad-hobby-modeling-skillz…

This is actually an old Aurora Monster Model of “The Mummy” I assembled and painted for a friend. I’ve had it – working on it a little bit every-so-often – for an embarrassingly long time (I should just never promise I’ll paint things for friends…). But now, finally, it is finished. Huzzah!

(Now I just have three more to finish up!)

(Hopefully they won’t take nearly so long!!)

Coming soon on Tim’s Miniature Wargaming Blog:

Back to gen-u-ine gaming stuff

  1. Very cool, it reminds me of a model I had as a kid. All long gone now.

    1. Thanks Sean. Yeah, I never had any of these as a kid, but I knew other kids that had them... or maybe knew other kids whose older brothers had them...? I can't think of too many friends I had that were that much into modelling... ? Anyway, I remember seeing them at other people's houses and probably at hobby stores, but at that time I was more interested in building models of tanks and stuff...

  2. Just goes to show that some of the old stuff still compares well with the new. I remember converting a Phantom of the Opera into Adam Adamant (who remembers him now?) by substituting a Black Knight head and making a sword stick out of sprue.

    1. Thanks Phil, I was trying for ancient and dessicated, but ended up worrying that it looked too much like the sand on the base... I thought perhaps I could have gone a shade darker... but looking at it now, that probably would have been too dark and looked odd.
