Buoyed by their success in the previous journey, our heroes swept into the Deadnooks with renewed vigour and sense of purpose!
To start things off, Brutogg barrelled out of the Landing Zone and pulverized on of the Gnawbone Strays into a leathery, rotted mash... which he then proceeded to EAT!?
Glaurio found two more blasting one with his pistol
Qulathis, close behind him, put an arrow through the second...
Unfortunately, she then disturbed a room full of Corpse Rats and Bats which all swarmed her!
Despite Qulathis' insistence that they all stay together for mutual protection... all spread out looking for the rotten little spies...
Brutogg happened upon a horde of Deadwalker Zombies and started smashing them apart, and storing the good bits for later snacking!
Dagnai found treasure AND a Diregoyle. killed one and stole the other!
MORE Bats and Rats were encountered. The Deadnooks seemed to be teeming with them!
Brutogg and Dagnai tried to thin out the bats while Qulathis and Glaurio tried to finish off the Gnawbone Strays that were scampering between their legs and shooting off into nearby alleys.
A group of Fell Bats swooped in and carried Dagnai off!!
Brutogg trying to bash another Gnawbone Stray before it scampered out of sight!
Kosargi Nightguard and a patrol of the Ulfenwatch finally arrived on the scene to see what all the hubbub was about!
"YOU'LL NOT ESCAPE US, WEE MORSEL!!"
All focused on finishing off Diregoyles and Gnawbone Strays and ignored the looming presence of the Guard!
Dagnai eventually fought off the Fell Bats that had carried him off to a remote corder of the Deadnooks.
Ogor on Ogor violence as Brutogg charged in and started bashing on the Kosargi Nightguard!
Glaurio charged in to give him a hand!
After dealing with the Fell Bats, Dagnai found ANOTHER Diregoyle sneaking about and chased it down and chopped it in two with his trusty hand axe!
and then the Ulfenwatch arrived in force... with a Vyrkos Blood-Born..
The Vyrkos charged and Dagnai cut it's head right off, and then charged into the mess of Ulfenwatch screaming about how the only thing he hated more than the Watch... was UNDEAD Watch...
Qulathis spotted two more Diregoyles and called for Glaurio and the others.... then put an arrow through one of them...
Glaurio dashed in and blasted the other with his pistol!
Hearing the shouts and curses of Dagnai off in the distance, Brutogg went to investigate...
When Brutogg last saw his little friend, he was absolutely surrounded by the skeletal warriors of the Ulfenwatch. He was madly hacking away at them all and laughing and swearing they'd never take him alive! He shouted to Brutogg; "Go! GO! Get the others and get out of here! I've got these boney bastards right where I want them! I'll meet you back at Haven, you can be sure of that.."
As ordered the rest left Dagnai behind and made their way to the extraction zone and were picked up by the Adamant - with a horde of zombies and skeletons of the Ulfenwatch hot on their tails!
After the Adamant lifted off with the three, it circled around a few times, hoping to spot the master of the ship in some side alley they could pick him up at and bring him safely back to Haven... But when one of the crew spotted a warrior of the Ulfenwatch, drenched in blood, raise Dagnai's head on a pike over the Betrayer's Way, they knew their vigil had been for naught.
A few of the crew declaired their duty done and it was time to move on, but most simply vowed vengeance and that they would not leave until the thee Vampires and all of their undead minions were brought low! Then they proceeded to load and fire the ships guns repeatedly into the Undead quarters of the city until the barrels glowed red!
So... a second successful Sabotage Journey... but at such a cost!! We are now down to just four Heroes remaining. If ONE MORE dies, that is the end of the campaign!!
We still need to succeed in one more Sabotage Journey before taking on Carmilla DuSang... and then there are all the Journeys to take down Kiritza, the Rat Prince?! and then the FINAL BOSS BATTLE!?
Yikes...
