WW2 German Staff Officer

 Just one today...

A random German Staff Officer I've had for ages but decided I could probably paint up in DAK colours to use as an Artillery Battery Officer.

I have a pair of extra men that may join his platoon headquarters (or one of them may become a spotter for the Howitzer I'm working on!?). I was going to wait and post them all together when they're all done... but then I decided I needed this guy got TONIGHT to be a sub for an Italian Artillery officer for a battery including the brand new Italian 100/17 Modello 14 medium howitzer I finished up yesterday and want to field in a game TONIGHT!!

I'll need to find an Italian officer at some point... but for the moment this guy will have to do!

  1. I'm guessing that figure was originally based on the German officer who was involved in one of the plots to kill Hitler. I forget his name, but I think in at least a movie version he was bald and had an eyepatch and carried a briefcase (with the bomb). If I recall correctly, I think he was portrayed by Robert Duvall and/or Donald Pleasance (in different movies).

    2. I tried looking it up. Apparently I was thinking of the character Duvall played in The Eagle has Landed.
