East Germans

I finished off a batch of East Germans last night:

(Remember: click on the pictures for a bigger version)

These are from Mongrel Miniatures. The helmets look a touch small to me, but I can’t say I’ve ever seen one in person. Otherwise they are beautiful figures, just like the rest of the line.

Not quite enough to do a serious skirmish with just yet, but I think they’d be great East German Border Guards in a Cold War Spy game using the Kiss-Kiss, Bang-Bang line from Artizan Designs or Copplestone Castings.

  1. Now I really want to invest in the KKBB line. I've invested in the Chinese and the RCW stuff from Copplestone, but now, I've got one more reason to invest in the KKBB stuff.

I bought a bunch of East German surplus stuff back after the Wall fell -- dirt cheap, and I"m kicking myself that I passed up a East German helmet w/ the white MP cloth cover.
